Scheme Overview & Objective

Awarded to meritorious students of economically weaker sections to arrest dropouts at Class 8 and encourage continuation of study through secondary stage.

Statutory Rule: Full-time regular attendance is compulsory. Students enrolled in private/distance correspondence degrees are generally ineligible unless explicitly stated in guidelines.

Financial Benefits & Allowances

₹12,000 per annum (₹1,000 per month)
₹12,000 per annum disbursed quarterly to student bank account via Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
Disbursement Mode: Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) directly into the beneficiary's Aadhaar-seeded active savings bank account via PFMS.
